I'm Rhett Milton-Barnes of Strength Coach Rhett. Whatever your sporting or personal goals, I will make you stronger. Training with me means you can expect to get results. I believe in life-long learning and self-development. This drives my approach to programming, one-to-one training and growing the team of powerlifters who work with me as part of the Rhett Milton Powerlifting Team. I enjoy watching clients start to enjoy their training, seeing people get stronger, make technical improvements and, most importantly, enjoying the process of training.
Whether you're walking into the gym for the first time or preparing for your next powerlifting competition, I provide packages for everyone. So if you are looking for motivation, a programme or are simply unsure and want to build your own path to success, contact me now to book an appointment, and let me help you.
Strength training can be as much about your mental wellbeing as your physical wellbeing. Physical activity is know to have a positive impact on mental health. I will always put the mental health of my clients first.
Feeling what feels good is the gateway to developing solid technique. Every person's body is different so one size certainly does not fit all. I work with my clients to help them understand what feels good for their body and from there we work together to progressively learn or refine technique.
I believe that strength is an expression of your own desire for self-improvement. Whether you want to compete at the highest level of your sport, or simply pick up your grandchildren, strength training will give you the best chance to maximise the longevity of you body.
I provide in person strength training and powerlifting coaching at PB Gym near Addenbrooke's in Cambridge where I can take advantage of thier state-of-the-art equipment to cater for all levels of experience. You do not have to be a member of the gym train with me.
With regards to learning how to lift, 1:1 coaching trumps all. Unless you have a state of the art 3D video analysis laboratory, any online coach will always be limited in helping you make the minor tweaks required to really master your lifting mechanics.
Likewise, with the psychology of learning to find your greatest potential with lifting, being able to express and share your energy 1:1 will always elicit your best work. That, in a nutshell, is a good explanation of the coach/athlete relationship I’ll look to develop with you as a client.
With online programming, I take control of your weekly training plan, a critical part of your training. The correct training plan is vital for you to maximise the return on investment from your hard work with the weights.
To truly observe and feel stronger is what it’s all about, so from here I update your programme at the end of each week based on the prior week’s training feedback.
To get started we’ll book in an initial consultation so I can gain all the information I need to formulate a training plan that will best suit your day to day and week to week lifestyle.
On top of this, communication via text, voice and video call are all options to help you along the way in your training journey.
I’m here to help you guide you through the often turbulent world of powerlifting. Whether you’re looking to improve your squat, bench and deadlift, or you’re already a competitive athlete, I can help. Together, we’ll work on increasing your strength, improving your technique, and building a targeted program that addresses your weaknesses. I can also help athletes peak for powerlifting competitions and offer on-the-day handling.
I would love to support you as you take your first steps on a strength journey. I focus on the fundamentals of technique, so you have a foundation from which to train safely and confidently. I do this through one-to-one sessions, small group training and online instructional videos.
Strength training can help improve performance and reduce your risk of injury across a broad range of sports. I can create a programme that complements your existing exercise routine so you can achieve significant improvements in strength and physical conditioning.
Injuries aren’t just a part of sport, they’re a natural part of life. Strength is proven to be one of the best ways to protect yourself against common injuries. Working together, we can design a rehab program that not only facilitates your return to sport but makes you a more robust individual.
